Director and Chair, Parham Peiroo

Parham is a corporate lawyer at Zargar Lawyers + Business Strategists, a boutique corporate law firm in Vancouver, British Columbia that specializes in acting for entrepreneurs, growth stage companies, angel investors, venture capital firms, private debt funds (senior, bridge, and convertible debt), and micro private equity firms. Parham is the Chair of the Business Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association (BC). Parham is also a member of the Banking Law and Securities Law sections of the Canadian Bar Association (BC).

Director, Behnam Behseta

Behnam is a financial consultant at Investors Group. He is running a fast growing wealth management practice in the lower mainland and have helped hundreds of families organize and strategize their financial life. He has a financial planning diploma from BCIT, Chemical Engineering degree from IUT and is registered with the Insurance Council of BC and BC Securities Commission. He holds a CSC, LLQP and FPSC Level 1 and will be a Certified Financial Planner on June 15th 2017. He has been actively supporting Alzheimer Society of BC through fundraising and volunteer work. He is also supporting Doctors Without Borders, Canadian Cancer Society, BCIT Foundation and National Advertising Benevolent Society and the Salvation Army. He has been helping CIVIC IC for more than three years and has recently become a board member. He has been always an active member of the society and was a guest speaker for MOSAIC Canada. 


Director and Treasurer, Zahra Jenab

Zahra is a family lawyer, with more than 20 years’ experience, and practicing on the North Shore. As well as being accredited by the Law Society of BC as a family law mediator, arbitrator, and parenting coordinator, she is a member of the BC Parenting Coordination Roster Society, and the BC Hear the Child Society Roster. Zahra has had the opportunity to provide legal services to a number of different immigrant and cultural communities, and is keenly aware of the cultural differences that often play a significant role in conflict resolution. She has had the privilege of volunteering in a number of different organizations, and is actively involved in several cultural and social associations, advancing the interests of the Iranian-Canadian community. She is currently the President of the North Shore Bar Association, a director of Access Pro Bono, BC Hear the Child Society Roster, and the North Shore Women’s Centre. 


Director and President, Keighobad Esmaeilpour

Kei is an engineer and certified project manager with a passion for social advocacy and political culture. Since immigrating to Canada, he has been an active member of the Iranian-Canadian community through his volunteer work and community development initiatives, including his involvement with local anti-bullying campaigns and his collaboration with dozens of local, nonpartisan NGOs to promote electoral turnout and political awareness.  In 2013, he was conferred the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to his community. Previously based at University of British Columbia as a biomedical engineering technologist, Kei assumed the role of technical advisor to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in 2014. Upon returning from MSF missions across Africa and Asia, he began working with the Doctors Without Borders Western Canada Association and the Education Without Borders nongovermental organization. Today, he continues his efforts to foster civic awareness in the Iranian-Canadian community. 

Director, Parmida Esmaeilpour

Parmida is a Master's student at the University of British Columbia. She previously studied Honours political science at the University of British Columbia, international relations at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, experimental methodology at Oxford University’s Centre for Experimental Social Sciences, and qualitative methodology at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. She has supported  youth civic engagement in her capacity as the former President of the UBC Political Science Student Association, Editor-in-Chief of the UBC Journal of Political Studies and her long-standing involvement with Civic IC.
